Teilen
When the days get colder, weâre always looking for simple recipes that bring a little extra zing to our mornings. This homemade ginger shot combines fresh ginger, orange, lemon and turmeric for a bright, spicy and citrusy drink thatâs super easy to make at home.
And with re:Mix, thereâs no need to get out a big blender jug: just add your ingredients to a compatible glass jar, blend, and youâre ready to go.
Even better? You can strain it and keep it in the fridge, or pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze it for later. Less waste, less washing up, more ginger. đ«
What youâll need
For a homemade ginger shot, youâll need:
- Fresh ginger
- Oranges
- Lemon
- Fresh turmeric
- Honey, optional
- Water, optional
You can easily adjust the quantities depending on how spicy, citrusy or concentrated you like your shot.
Tip: If you prefer a milder flavour, add a little water after blending.
How to make your ginger shot with re:Mix
1. Cut everything into pieces
Peel your ginger and turmeric if needed, then cut the oranges, ginger, turmeric and lemon into smaller pieces.
Thereâs no need to make everything perfectly small, just make sure the pieces are manageable for blending.
2. Put everything in your jar
Add the ingredients directly into a compatible glass jar.
Add your orange, ginger, turmeric and lemon, then add honey if you like a little sweetness.
You can also add a splash of water to make the mixture easier to blend.

3. Close the blade head
Secure the blade head onto your jar and make sure it is properly closed and locked before placing it on your re:Mix.
Ready to blend!
4. Blend until smooth
Place the jar on your re:Mix and blend until you reach your preferred consistency.
Want it super smooth? Blend a little longer.
Prefer a little more texture? Give it a shorter blend.

5. Strain it, or keep it pulpy
If you prefer a smooth, juice-like shot, pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer.
You can also skip this step and keep all the pulp for a more textured drink.
Zero-waste tip: Donât throw away the leftover pulp! Add it to smoothies, sauces or other recipes.

Drink it now or save it for later
Pour your ginger shot into a glass and enjoy! đ
If youâve made a bigger batch, transfer it to a jar, close it and keep it in the fridge.
Or, for an even more convenient option, freeze your ginger shot into ice cubes. That way, you can take out a cube whenever you fancy one and let it defrost before drinking â or add it to your next smoothie.

A little ginger, a lot of funk!
What we love about this recipe is how simple it is: one jar, a few fresh ingredients and a couple of minutes.
No dedicated blender container, no unnecessary packaging, and no pile of dishes afterwards.
Just blend â store â drink â repeat.
And because re:Mix works with compatible supermarket glass jars, you can reuse a jar you already have at home instead of reaching for another container.
Ready to make your own?
Try this ginger shot next time you need a little citrusy kick, and donât forget to save those leftovers for another recipe. â»ïž
